This came in for a quick service pre-winter. Water ingress was rife, hubs, BB and headset were rusty and rough. But we waved our magic spanner and she's out the door, running like a dream.

Thanks to the guys at @handslingbikes for the quick service getting spares out to us.

One destroyed crank undestroyed with the undestroy

One destroyed crank undestroyed with the undestroying machine!

The pedal had ripped the threads out and pulled the bonded in washer out, damaging some of the carbon in the process.

We managed to ream it out, tap it perfectly parallel to the BB axle and fit a repair insert. Once this was completed, we made a new washer and bonded it back in place.

As good as if not better than new!

Another phenomenal ride from @andrew.feather84
In the National Hill Climb Champs at the weekend saw him retain his title for the 2nd year running.

To say we're proud is an understatement. We have poured so much time into getting Andrew's bike ready from the ground up this year, to see the hours of hard graft culminate in this single effort is indescribable.

Some things we tried worked, some things didn't work 🤦🏼‍♂️... But with every iteration of the build we got closer and closer to perfection.

Whilst last year's victory was on a proven chassis (Supersixevo Hi Mod), this year was the Year of the Disc Brake #yotdb aboard the Cannondale Lab71 SuperSix EVO.

What a day. What a climb. What a bike. What a BEAST!

🏆🏆Andrew Feather - National Champion!🏆🏆

He's only gone and done it again! @andrew.feather84 put 18 seconds into Ed Laverack on The Struggle today to come away with the national title.

A truly exceptional ride, cresting the summit in 11:48. Weather conditions were fantastic, no rain and almost still.

It's been an absolute honour for us both to work with Andrew again this season to help him retain the title - the first time on a disc brake bike too!

It's National Hill Climb Champs this weekend!

Needless to say I'm not entering but I did a recce today to see what all the fuss is about. After all, with @sarge.jaco and @andrew.feather84 about to test their mettle on this fantastic test piece, the more knowledge of the climb I can gain, the better.

The Struggle is just that - relentless 20% gradient at the start, a cheeky little downhill bit that lulls you into a false sense of security then the final 20% ramp kicks you when you're down.

Pack your best legs. You're gonna need them.

And that is the end of the hillclimb season, for me at least!

My final race yesterday up Burrington Combe, organised by @bristolsouthcc

The weather was perfect, my weight was low (for me) the bike was as light as it's ever going to be but there's no substitute for raw power!

I survived my way to the top with a disappointing time but this didn't detract from the race. I just love racing, no matter what my form.

Perhaps you should consider pinning a number on next season?!

We have a depth of experience servicing Wahoo and Tacx trainers. Our routine service looks at bearings, belts, magnets, circuit boards amongst other areas. Common problems include squaeking, rubbing, rough bearings and other associated noises! Thankfully we can normally rectify most of these without issue.

The dust has settled after the big showdown on Saturday!

Another great event from @uobcycling on the formidable Belmont Hill.

@sarge.jaco fairly and squarely put a minute into me when it was his turn, which was good enough for 5th place overall.

I ended up a lowly 60th but thoroughly enjoyed every second of it! 382 W for 4 minutes was the best I've done in years but was eclipsed by Jake's 495 W for 3 minutes.

Next one is Burrington Combe on 22nd October. Come along and give some support!

It's the @uobcycling hillclimb up Belmont Hill. The gloves are off and all talk is of the battle between @sarge.jaco and @le_bombay_badboy , the finest @bomberbikeworks mechanics!

Not your normal hillclimb machines either - Jake on his Cervelo P2 (weighty but pointy) and Greg on his all alloy CAAD10 (massive but surprisingly lean).

☠️☠️☠️ SHIMANO CRANK RECALL ☠️☠️☠️

As you are probably now aware, Shimano are recalling certain cranks for inspection after a series of failures.

The affected cranks have date codes from KF to RF inclusive and include the following models only: FC-6800, FC-R8000, FC-9000 and FC-R9100

If you have or think you may have one of the affected cranks, please bring it into us for a completely free inspection. The inspection takes about 45 minutes so you'll need to leave the bike with us. If it has started to fail it will be replaced completely free of charge*.

*please not that this only covers the crank and fitting, it doesn't include any further work.

Proper maintenance is essential not only to the longevity of your bike but also to your wallet!

A simple gear adjustment could've saved this issue. The rear mech has gone into the spokes trashing the following:

- spokes
- rim
- rear mech
- chain
- gear cable

As you can imagine, this will be a rather fruity repair bill!
