Meet the Team
Greg
Bomber Bikeworks is run by self confessed bike obsessive, Greg “Bomber” Lancaster (me). I have been riding bikes competitively for over 2 decades having competed in cross country, downhill, cyclo cross, time trials and road racing. I graduated with a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Exeter University in 2002. I worked in engineering for several years until 2007, when I couldn’t stay away from bikes any longer. I initially worked in a few bike shops in the Bristol area before setting up my own mobile bike workshop – Cycle Therapist which I launched in 2008.
In 2015 I decided I had done all I could with the business and needed to expand and diversify. A premises was sought and Bomber Bikeworks was born.
I’m married with three amazing children but I still do my best to find time to train and ride.
Welcome to Bomber Bikeworks.
Jake
Jake is riding for the highly revered Team Bottrill again this season. Having spent some time road racing a few years ago, Jake now concentrates on racing the time trialling scene, holding many course records at 10 and 25 miles. Jake is the current National team time trial champion and held the 2022 National 100 mile title! So it’s fair to say that Jake knows a thing or two about high performance bikes.
It has been an honour to train Jake up and help him get his Apprenticeship in Bicycle Mechanics and Cytech Level 3 qualification. He is very adaptable and has quickly picked up wheel building and suspension servicing amongst a host of other new knowledge.
When Jake’s not riding his bike, he’s eating or sleeping – 10,000 miles a year is a full time job in itself!
